 Excursion to AGRIGENTO and PIAZZA ARMERINA - THE GREEK ROMAN ROAD
Tour starting from PalermoDeparture around 8.30 a.m. . After a journey of about two hours through the valley of the river Platani arrive in Agrigento. Visiting the Valley of the Temples, a splendid testimony of the importance of Akragas the world greek. Walking along the valley we could see one after another, the temples of Juno, Concord and Hercules built during the fifth century BC and declared World Heritage by UNESCO.
On request lunch (extra) in a restaurant with a panoramic view of the temple of Concord.
After lunch in just one hour, we reach the famous Villa Romana del Casale di Piazza Armerina, one of the most important archaeological sites from Roman times. The nearly 3500 square meters of colored mosaics covering the floors of the villa, have survived almost intact, have earned the Roman residence of the inscription to the World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Among others admire the corridor of the great hunt, the famous room of girls in bikinis and that of the erotic scene.
