Because the city, during the eruption of the Vesuvius in 79 A.C., was completely preserved, we can now recunstruct what Roman life in Pompei must have been like at the time.

Walk along the houses and shops.
See the famous Thermae, where man en woman, seperate from each other, would take baths.
With a bit of fantasy you can imagen the show that was performed for over 5.000 spectators at the big theater.
You can almost see the gladiators play there games in the eliptical Anfitheater, that held a capacity of 12.000 persons.
